Annoying since it blocks delivery until the hauling drones are finished, well after the belt could have supplied it all.

If i block the output, wouldn't it not work for the usual drones to grab from the storage to build, etc?

Yep, that's the caveat. You need to micromanage it. But it works, and at the moment it's the only workaround I've found.

Because when you start sending 10+ cargo pods of stuff, and each of them gets delayed because of the drones acting up, you lose a lot of time
