I can't confirm but it appears they don't like to eat from a fridge. That may explain the hunger issue at least. not sure

Aggree with @azure tiger , Colonists are a great Mystery. I do have the impression that they are not really balanced ATM. Can you give us a hint If we should wait before playing and reporting issues related to colonists for now?
Someone earlier said as long as they have a medic, they tend to stay alive.
I was one person who said it, and yes, they will live longer, but they still die randomly, it just takes longer, mostly, drive pure hp damage which they take from something for some reason I don't know.
I watched a couple in a row from the time they arrived to the time they died.
Arrive, begin meandering, work random task they were auto assigned to till they are totally hungry and totally tired... they will be totally unhappy too by this point.
Then the go eat, and go to sleep.
All is fine with their health until they wake up.
As soon as they get out of bed that first time they start taking damage over time.
Sounds like they seriously need to look at the damage causes and tone it down a notch or 20.
I don't even know what the causes are... there is no feedback at all other than their health bar dropping in spite of being rested and fed.

Yeah. DEVs need to look into that because is happening at way too high a rate. Let's say for some reason they did not have food for a day, I can see them taking damage and need meds to recover, same with no entertainment for too long then they start losing mental health and when reaches zero their physical takes damage. But just waking up fed and refreshed and the health dtarts to plumet, I do not understand.
DEVS you need to balance this.

Yeah, colonists routing needs some loving fo' sure.
Just to add to this, hired three colonists (bot, med, chef) all died with in seconds of landing and making it to base (2x ice melters, electrolysis, oxygen vent, storages, and a hydro farm, beds also), still died within 30~ seconds
