Yeh i think the multiplayer is where this game is going to be different in then other's but i do mis this

We assumed it would get quite annoying in convoys and decided not to synchronize it.

Let it happen and give it a good week or 2 and see people feed back, feed back is key 🙂 make other custom truck horns see we don’t hear same horn too 🙂

Well how i think the horn wil be mostly used is to greet when you meet. And like for thank your ect.

Meaby just like the collision option you should then have a mute option per player as well.

So you can mute the one who is anointing

There should be an option to be able to hear other player's horns. At least make it optional

I have a thought for this, you know those games where you have voice chat and their name shows up even if they say a very very shortword, and their name lingers for a few seconds and then fades away? maybe could be the same for horns, it will show who is using a horn nearby. If people abuse it during convoy or whatnot, you will know who and can easily mute them.

I know Horn sync is on the trello so thought I'd add that onto this. Below you may see an example:

If someone honks near you, you'll immediatly know who, especially for admins during public convoys, they don't have to look back and figure out who is who.

(And in the playlist or if you free your mouse, you could click the name of the person to mute their honks.)

More interaction like being able to click on the actual name could also be a thought, anyway that makes it simplest for people i suppose, or just add audio mute from the playerlist.
