Well the naming was a ploy by the Navy, to get around Treasury objections to what were extremely expensive destroyers. By naming them after Tribal/Ethnic groups of the empire. It would be harder for the treasury to cancel them for fear of insulting that group.

Her machinery was already shot, she was on her way to the States to retube her boilers. And we don't have solid proof of her speed other than the story and comments from KGV. I don't doubt her engineering crew got her going as fast as she could safely, but getting her to exceed her design speed with those engines is questionable.

British Machinery of the time was heavy for its power output, but could be 'abused' more than most other nation's kit.
One example is the Germans captured a Greek DD, which had British machinery, and without any of the Germans speaking any technical greek managed to get her operational and she was one of the most reliable German DDs of the entire war. Which tells you alot about actual German DDs.
