She feels like the outright best balanced BB in Tier VIII. I have the perpetual feeling she's outdated, but I can't think of anything I could buff or nerf on her to completely unbalance the ship into uselessness or overpowered glory.

I think KC is probably fine, but I meant white-washy as in the warcrimes, not skin tone. My issue with KC and AL to some extent is that they arbitrarily pull the characters out of the real historical backdrop and put them all in a fantasy-ish world where they're fighting some vaguely defined baddy who's basically just the sheer industrial capacity of the united states but robots, and as an audience you cheer for said characters but they embrace the attitudes and mannerisms of said empires while sidestepping the real historical atrocities Japan, the US and other nations' militaries do in the war.

Very overly deep ik but Japan specifically has an issue of denying or burying their past atrocities without any sort of onus in a way that's waaay worse than the US imo, and you can see how they present all the protagonists as morally white characters without any sort of attempt at saying "oh yea no they did x bad thing like their real stuff" like how I guess girls und panzer kinda does with their political discussions in the background behind all the anime girls driving tanks bs.

They're meant to be lighthearted fantasy bs, it's just the culture that made them took some liberties that I don't appreciate outside of the show and it makes the writing less likable to me, personally.
