There is a way that you can kill a Valpa with an Illinois but it's kind of dumb

So you might be able to just run right at him and go for it

Pretty much. Trying to run something niche to capitalise on its strength, and I get countered by the map and ship. Thought Nanning could be good as a “torp rush BB, and curb stomp DD” but got caught out by a Pommern who played smart in his positioning by the time my torp reload was ready. Played Yiming to counter torps and get Valps who get saved by the heal. Obviously a skill issue is there for me, but the Karl Johan seems decent enough as long as you don’t get a Paolo
