There are heroes which deal a lot of magic dmg or atk and some which deal physical dmg or atk, there are monsters which are weak to physical or magic atk.
Like mega maggot, it is weak to magic attack so you'd use incinerator, Elementalist, snow queen, Sage of storms and bombin goblin to hit (this is the f2p lineup btw)

If its lvl 4 or 5, you'll replace prima Donna with bombin goblin

2. Tap any lv2 Monster.
3. Select heroes
   3.b. ideally select heroes that will be optimised for the monster. See #👹┊monsters channel pins
4. Press deploy.
   Repeat until the monster is dead.
   **Note: you might be too weak to kill the monster without using a lot of energy.

• level up your heroes to do now damage
• upgrade your Monster hunting research to do more damage
• get Slayer equipment (you can get some from events like guild fest but it's mostly a paid item)
  Lastly: ask your guild to help killing a monster if you can't kill it yourself. You can link it and everyone can all attack at the same time.

Almost all players are food negative except for food hypers. Only really use food from inventory when you're about to use them. Food becomes quite scarce in the late game so save as much as you can.

It's not just worth it, if you're f2p it's something you can't afford to not do.
Unlike many other aspects of the game, a dedicated f2p would be able to save up enough red orbs to get a few basic familiars maxed for defence.

Make yourself useful to the guild by hypering RSS, burn dead castles also (with the majority of your troops hidden) so you can contribute to the bank.
Aim for a high level in guild fest and use your full Monster energy daily to get your hunting numbers up.
Make an extra effort to search for rally targets, since you can hide your troops you can safely fury to scout and link targets for the rally leads.
Be active and chatty in the group.

It's actually the cheapest best army attack hero. Only worth getting if you're going to max her to gold. Many people choose lore Weaver, who has the same stats, but costs slightly more, however Lore is also useful for Colo and hunting.

Totally depends on your budget, what stage you're at in the game, and what your aims are. It's not possible to give a universal answer for that.

Common choices for the 1+1 are tokens pack ($20), material madness (up to the value you can afford, 5-20-50-100 if you can and use the BOGO on the 100 pack), crown jewels (personally I wouldn't recommend), massive discounts (if your budget is just $5 and you need tomes), or Rising Champ if you can afford a full run and use the BOGO on the 100 pack it will get a really huge head start for beginner players making a champ piece, even if you only make one and never get it past purple, it's good value. - armour for being food positive, offhand for training, or boots for HP and travel speed. Pick one and get it as high as you can, it will always be useful.

It sounds like you're rushing your castle level to reach the endgame a lot faster, without working on your heroes, gear, or research on the way.

When you're a small castle, prioritising Research and Construction speed is definitely going to be of most benefit for you.
Reducing the time of everything as soon as possible will end up saving you a lot of speed ups in the long run.

I'd even recommend hoarding all of your speeds for a good while just the get the most out of them later.

Also, with your hero stages, keep doing normal until you hit a point where you get stuck and then go and work on Elite stages.
Rinse and repeat.

You don't have to complete every single task to earn all the rewards, so don't panic if a task is too difficult or time-limited and you missed it. Usually completing 75% of the offered tasks in a month is sufficient. However if you don't claim all the rewards by the end of the month, they are lost.
Claimed technolabes are items you can save up. They stay in your inventory forever so you can save them to use with peak efficiency.

Each technolabe is worth 33.33 days of original speed. (this is the time a research takes without any gear or boosts - you can see it by tapping on the green "research speed" number on any research, it will tell you the original time in days. So for maximum efficiency, try to only use technolabes on researches that are as close to 33 days as possible. For example if a research takes 33.4 days, it will cost 2 technolabes! But a research that is 66.5 days will also cost 2.
Just divide the total research time by the number of technolabes it uses and if the number is over 30, you know it's good value.

The only sane explanation is that they didn't clarify the statement or possibly don't have a fluent grasp of English, and they meant to save the gems for gem buildings.
(Which is what you should do)

Allow me to clarify:
In order to unlock T4 troops (the goal of most players), you need to first build academy 25. In order to unlock academy 25, you need first Castle lv25 and three other buildings that require 200k gems each - Prison, Battle hall, and Altar.
You need a total of about 650k gems just to unlock the academy, before you can even start the researches for T4.

The absolute best thing you can do as f2p is SAVE YOUR GEMS. Save them all. Save save save. Do everything you can to earn gems - grind gem gathering after KvK, do colo, enter all the social media events, Hunt as much as you can.
Get into the best guild that you can.
Because you will need over 650k gems just for the upgrades on the buildings (don't ever "gem the building" - this usually refers to using gems to finish a building instantly; same for "gemming research" or "gemming troops" - both of which you should avoid as a beginner f2p).
Keep in mind that it's not just the 3 buildings that cost 200k gems each; every level 25 building requires a golden hammer that is 2k gems. And you need several of them upgraded before you can do the academy. Plus there's treasure trove which is a very sensible investment but requires gems as well.

The only thing you should spend gems on is a shield once you have enough troops to be worth hiding.

Final note: don't be discouraged by this. 650,000 gems seems like an impossible amount when you're first starting out, but if you play smart you can easily reach T4 unlocked within a year. If you're in a really good guild and you gather a lot to trade RSS for gems, and use your technolabes with maximum efficiency it can be done in 8-10 months.

The journey to get to t4 is just as much fun and just as much playing the game as having an already made account (which you can do pretty fast if you're willing to spend in the game, and if you can afford to spend even a few dollars, there's a 99c pack that will get you a huge boost, it's definitely worthwhile)

For most people, pact 4 is the easiest next focus after T4. Then you want to work on counters. For tome researches, there's a choice that most people face: work on T5 (which is what everyone thinks they want) or go for sigils.

If you're f2p or a very low spender; don't get t5. You can't afford it.

Sigils will benefit you more as a rally filler for your guild (guilds are likely to accept members who have sigils to join wonder rallies for WoW and KvK - and super useful in Dragon arena, even if they don't have t5). You can get a helmet Sigil f2p or low spending realistically. Counters are also cheap and will benefit you a lot as a solo attacker. If you're more likely to be soloing small castles or just being a darknest lead, counters are an ideal choice.

Honestly, save them up.

I'll explain why:

As a new player, your speeds don't get much value. Because you don't have gear and familiars and stuff that reduces speed use. So you can speed out a building now that will take 3 days of speeds... But if you wait till you're more established and have boosts, that same building will only take 2 days. And someone at my level, it might even be only 1 day of speed.

The more you save, the more you have banked for when there's a good event on - if there's a hell event with Watcher or red orbs for example; that's really valuable and worth using speeds for. During guild fest to complete quests, or exchange extravaganza. Currently there's an event with a free Castle skin, but you will need a lot of saved speeds and energy to complete it.

This is why you save save save as a newbie. It's worth more to you later

This is very much like getting pocket money in childhood. When you're 10 you can just go buy candy with your $5 because it's not worth much and you want candy and you can have it right now. But if you put all that pocket money in savings, by the time you're 16 you can buy a car.

I used to make this analogy about buying a house, but with the housing market today, you kinda have to time travel back to 1985 and invest the $5 then, just for a down payment today 😂

Assuming you already have T4 , you're actually using your gems wisely. Yes, there's some sacrifices when it comes to bargain store. If you don't have a lot of Castle skins, you might forego the scrolls. If you can slow roll your familiar training you might skip the fam exp.
If you're aiming for pact 5 those are invaluable, but you can slow roll them in Tycoon, so that's another place you might compromise. If you're looking to save, you might choose to just get the terror jewels which have ATK and skip the Trojan jewels, which are good for travel speed and inf HP, but less important.
You might not get everything every day, depending on your gem budget.
If you're a low spender, also consider what things you will get anyway from cheap packs and focus on the stuff you don't get in other ways.

Embers if gems allow are great for F2P since you won't get many other good sources
Jewels pretty much a waste especially if your gems are very limited
Sigils are great help to the guild but F2P I wouldn't go above 1 purple till you start getting close to more slots than you could work on another sigil
Pacts if you have fams adult as F2P I'd chill with them if not adult getting them there is nice for the additional stats
Scrolls not worth for F2P mainly useful for spenders
Elixirs only would get them if you like to do guild fest quests with those since you can get the exp for free , only other thing with those is that you could get them if your core fams (trickstar goblin gremlin hell drider hoarder) that provide free long term benefits aren't done and the exp not runes are the bottleneck.

And I forgot this if your T4 is done yes like Ann said you should spend on bargain that's best value on gems for growing your account

I can say that slow rolling f2p with Tycoon and occasionally getting from bargain store (not always depending on gem budget) I've gotten Bon, Huey, Frostwing, and Bee maxed. Just Blackwing and Garg I don't have yet. And having grinded hells with yellow orbs and always getting them in exchanges, I have enough to pick one of those p5 to awaken and level up to 10... I just didn't pick which one yet 🤣
I do a lot of Tycoon, but a f2p level "lot" - I don't buy the tokens pack much (got it with BOGO). If that's any indication for you.

I asked my very P2P R5 and they said they used Tycoon to get p5, and they worked out it was cheaper than buying the pact packs.
