Tycoon for building up cups is a very good value way to get a solid gear set. The newer monster collections also have good accessories, but those ultra rare items only come up in the challenge lab and Tycoon, so it's more expensive. Or similar, if you're spending a little, playing the challenge Lab and Tycoon is not a bad way to go, if you employ some strategy.

However, if you're still building the full set of mixed gear, some material chests to give you an overall boost is very sensible.

Yes it's good to be balanced.

I personally agree with the school of thought that if you're a low-medium spender, it's actually good to invest a little in champ packs early on and focus on just one champ piece.
The logic being that you also get other monster chests with the rising champ pack, and building towards a gold champ chest will make you food positive - worth a huge amount in the long run. It's not more expensive than cups, but people don't think too much of pushing at least one cup.

For the most part would say yes cuz frontline countered you. Enemy was inf phal so adding cav to your march , the fastest troop unit there means it walked up to the inf dealing the 14k damage there while the largest being the rng chilling behind was damaging your cav (the 51k damage)
