Open kd has super high might players with troop advantage, you will be fighting t5 with t3, it’s no fun unless you have loads of money and can T5 quick as well.
I would suggest you stay in kd 1316, it’s a protected new kingdom. You can grow until 300m-400m with T4 troops and nice kills before protection is over, if you play smartly.

Upgrade your all attack artifacts to 3 stars first (start from gold) then your hp artifacts (gold) . Then do purple atk ones to 3 stars. Don't do purple hp ones yet

For levels do purples at like lvl 5 blues maybe lvl 4 and gold ones for lvl 6 at least

There’s 2 basic ones first is economy you just max out construction, research and training speed the rest can go into any farming or gathering/ whatever you want. Next basic one would be your mix talents you’ll just want to max both army hp, army attack, and all offense 3 the rest put into offense 2 in the troop type your lacking attack most on

You could also do blast talents which would just be maxing out a specific troop type offense and army hp and army attack rest can go into defense or another troop type

Manors helps for reducing training time of troops by giving training speed and infirmaries helps in healing trooos where their level gives capacity to store wounded troops

The Big Guy (and packs) are really good for early accounts, you get extra gear (sacred broadsword, etc), plus when maxxed he gives an extra 30% construction speed and good Inf ATK stats.
Later on, he is as much a liability as anything. No good for MH, mediocre in Coli, you usually finish your construction before anything else.....and the gear you get from him is superceded quickly.

Yes, yes (and include your leader), random relocating will not stop the attack.
The only real way to stop an attack dead in its tracks is to put on a shield. That also includes a rally on you.

Absolutely you can use a shield if you are being attacked. It will stop any attack, that has not actually hit you already, from hitting you. So if their troops are marching towards you and you put on a shield, the attack fails.

You can use the shelter (which I assume is what you mean by "refuge") but it will only protect the troops you put in it, as well as your leader if you put that in there as well. It will not actually stop the attack.

There are so many opinions on this that any answer I give will be wrong according to someone.
Most people I have spoken with use mostly manors with only a couple of infirmaries while they are building up their troop numbers, then replace nearly all the manors with infirmaries when they think they have enough troops.

If you are doing a hyper with really no troops and no intention to ever have many troops, nearly all manors.

Your choice, but I only keep T1s and T3s on hand. Once I unlock T3s, I do not replace the T2s ever and only replace the T1s once I've got a full march of each T3 type. Some do T2s instead of T1s.
