You can expect to be down $20

But in seriousness, if you haven't gone far with building your gear yet, you'll probably be quite happy with the upgrades you can make.
Scroll up a tad and look at the drop rates (the graphic that says "open per #" for all types) - it's not actually anything at all to do with the number of chests you should open at a time; that's total bullshit, but it is an indication of the frequency of rare materials based on drop rates. So you can add up how many chests you get from the mat madness X2 because it's BOGO) and divide each type by the numbers on that list, you'll get an average approximation of outcome. Of course that's just averages and you might get very good luck and catch a gold rare item or two, or you could get terrible luck and drop nothing at all.

To be clear, I'm talking about this thing, which seems to do the rounds a lot and for no logical reason people keep believing in it (because it's an IMAGE and it says TESTED therefore it must be true 🙄🙄🙄).
The number of chests you open at a time makes no difference at all, any patterns you see will be 100% guaranteed observational bias
However that is indicative of drop rates so you can get an idea of how many rare items you might get on average out of a bunch of chests.

I have to disagree, for low spenders the super savings is by far the best pack.

Every chest of splendor is worth, on average, 600 gems (ignoring the 100,000 gem drop, so the actual is higher) 10 boxes x 600 plus the 1340 gems that come in the pack is worth on average 7340 per day.

If you bought the pack for 20 days you would average as least 146,000 gems.

Buying tokens those are worth 244 tokens.
The 20 days times 10 tokens is 200.
The super savings pack for 20 days has 444 tokens, compared to the 490 tokens in tons of tokens, but buying the super savings you would get 400 of terror, wyrm, queen bee, mecha, hoot claw, shaman, hardox, and steampath.
In my opinion those 3200 chests (20 days x 20 chests x 8 types) are worth the 30k gem difference

Because there is no actual method for opening to get luck. It's luck, nothing more. The drop rate doesn't change. The chance doesn't change. Any pattern you see is pure chance and observational bias. It makes no difference if you open 1 or 100 at a time, or anything in between.

the astralite/ember pack is a slight exception if you are looking for embers anyway, as it then is fairly good

if you're lucky with frosty it may be a good choice, otherwise i'd just go for tokens

though probably tokens because of the stat bonuses from adult p2p fams, which are pretty easy to unlock and then train up to levl 50

If you want the same stats but cheaper, get Songstress.
Lore has the benefit of being really good in Colo and some hunting teams, which some people think is worth for the extra money.
But their battle stats are the same and both have great tits and non-human leg situation, so they're balanced there.

If you're just starting out, and plan to spend a bit (like a small - mid budget), I'd highly recommend getting the two beginner pack cycles all the way up to the 100 pack "A New Adventure' and (crap I can't remember off the top of my head what the other was called, but it's hot Big Guy in it.
With those you get Big Guy, And a good start on Witch Doll and Petit Devil, as well as a much of stuff that's really useful To a beginner and kinda useless after you've been playing a few months.

After that, songstress and/ or Lore Weaver are probably the best heroes to buy, even if you only get those.

Take some time to look at the battle skills each hero has and get an idea of what you'll use. Don't pick heroes just because they look cool (unless your budget extends to aesthetically minded purchases)

Tycoon is 1000x YES. lab is also better than buying the rare material packs (or monster chest packs).

Tycoon is just worth it.
Not to win jackpots (though it's a sweet bonus if you do - just don't expect it because it's unlikely), but for the rare materials, and also for all the other awesome stuff you can't get without spending big. The licence to kill, the P2P familiar pacts, exp potions, winged boots, etc etc. Always do Tycoon.
Honestly I'd say once you have T4 unlocked and trove maxed and a basic supply of shields / antis / relos, Tycoon is the best place to spend gems*, especially for f2p who are working on stuff without spending.

That's the Igg diamond store. It allows you to buy an in game currency to make pack purchases much easier, instead of being redirected to play store or whatever to verify card details and to verify the payment, the purchase is instant. It's a matter of convenience.

the promo code is basically a scam to get players to play, thinking they have an advantage. however, this pack is worth around a dollar, and serves 0 purpose to those even slightly developed in the game.
it is also illegal to sell said promo code in this server, or anywhere for that matter. not that anyone would want to buy it due to the first statement.
as for the $500 amazon gift card, it is likely through a spending event or new player event. either way, unless you are really lucky or spend thousands, you wont get the gift card.

Generally the $5 packs are the best value, right? Seems counterintuitive to how it should work, but for instance the Hunter pack gives me 53 flames for $5, and only 180 for $20. If they were trying to make it equal value, the $20 pack should be giving us 4x53 flames = 212. To make it a better value it should have more than that. So the more expensive packs are trying to capitalize on impatience and on people not paying attention to the math? Or am I missing something?

I think the only $20 pack I want to buy would be if I have a 1+1 coupon to use on it. If I get tokens with that, I’ve got ~1000 tokens to carry me through GF quests and hell events for hero medals.
