I like gemming it but sometimes I don't have the gems to spare. And gear up pack is raw gem value, nowhere else to get those speeds.

Bootcamp also has chests and gives gems. And you can get discount with certain stores. The buy 1 get 1 was good for a full round of bootcamp also.
Couple times I've had a gold halo from bootcamp packs. In protected kingdoms its the easiest and cheapest way to get rss and speeds. It counts towards news events, and you don't have to wait.
Both ways are valid, but your 3rd party way is against ToS and should not be discussed here

For real it won't take long to update your voodoo gear, and it won't take long before you wish you'd spent on war gear instead. Most people have a full gold set from free chests and Tycoon after not too long, but the really useful gear is much harder and much more worthwhile to upgrade.
If you haven't done it yet, go for mat madness instead. For real

When I was starting out I didn't understand gear at all and all the different war sets were super confusing.
But voodoo shaman is really simple - one set that does one thing. So I focused on it. (Wasn't buying any packs at that point; still pure f2p) I prioritised hunting shamans and playing Tycoon when dolls were on the map.
And now I have full gold shaman gear and 2439 unopened shaman chests, wishing I'd learned sooner to focus on war gear and how hard cups are

The only upside is I got a couple of gold champ manes from the chests in Tycoon when dolls are up 🤣🤣🤣 but I wouldn't recommend spending on that unless you're committed to it

Once you have everything around purple, it's better to focus on lab/tycoon to get the rare drop items for gold and mythic upgrades. But even very low spenders would benefit greatly from buying even one or two material madness early on in the game

Monster Hunt gear will eventually pay for itself in terms of saved energy. Even if you only get 2 or 3 times it will make a huge difference having some hunting gear than none.
With maxed research and mostly blue Slayer gear, you can kill a lv3 single hitting with a full bar (approximately). Without gear you can prob do maybe 30% on the same Monster. With maxed gear and good heroes you can kill 2 of them for the same energy.

Over time, and especially when first starting out, being able to hunt makes a huge difference. Even if you don't get the rare material drops, it's a great way to stock up on gems, stars, relos, speeds, even shields for the farmers.
Not to mention most guilds worth their salt require some hunting at least. You'll just never regret having hunting gear.

And yes, if you're a farmer and never intended to do any war, mat madness is probably a total waste.
But you might as well be f2p and gather, in which case why are you even in this channel

For elite labyrinth. A lot of people go for either full run of material madness or jewel pack. It adds up to a bit more than straight £100 pack but it's better value for money

If you want to unlock it in a single purchase, you need to buy a single $100 pack.

Personally I would disagree. It takes 3 to 4 months which are nothing. You need like 100k tomes if you wanna max everything out. Even if you buy massive discount everyday you will only hit 31k by the time this has reached 250 total. In reality most people will take more than 4 months to get the tomes they need. So in general it's worth it

Yes, at 2 tomes/day you only 250 tomes to get the same tome value out of the $5 everlasting as you would out of the $5 250 massive discounts. At 125 consecutive log-ins you will have the same 250 tomes and then every day after is pure bonus tomes for the same $5

I’m doing pretty well with my blue main hand/chest/helmet/one horn and green boots plus two purple horns and a gold mace.

It all depends on what you want, do you want to be able to grind out monsters with a low energy cost or just enough to be able to do an extra monster daily with natural energy.

You want gold/mythic if you want to crank monsters out but where you are is about good enough to do 3-5 level 2’s daily depending on monster research and heroes

Forget about the legs waste of time I doubt you need more than what you have the extra boost isn't that significant I don't think.
Personally went for mythic offhand and purple mainhand anyway just to have more then most people lol
