Maintenance shields are basically only there for situations where something outside your control might prevent you from taking the necessary action (shields, antiscout, changing gear etc). When a maintenance is announced the day before, you have plenty of time to plan for it and act accordingly. And the way things have gone lately, you should probably plan for there being a good chance that there will be at least some extension of the originally planned time.

If my companies server was down as much as IGGs then the provider was be GONE and a new one in place pretty quickly. Cant believe how often it is happening. And because we have all invested so much time and money they know there is nothing we can do about it. Other than quit.

I had just left my guild and moved my accounts to a temp guild. Getting ready to take a 2 week break from the game. My first in 20 months of playing. IRL taking priority. With issues like this server failure there is a real chance I won return. Cut my losses and get on with my life.

Don't let your shield get under 24h. Doesn't matter what IGG does then cause it doesn't matter for 24 hours and so far that's a barrier not breached.

The wasted gem on early refresh on shield is a lot cheaper than a zero. You gotta do years of that before it cost you more than the troops would. Not been zero'd yet so take my advice 😛
