Yes there is an actual cycle for monsters. IGG just likes to screw with it ever so slightly every 4 weeks so that an actual chart can't be published. (Not based on any actual facts)

However if your guild isn't active to open all gifts frequently, too many lv1 will fill everyone's gift basket and they'll miss out.
However to the however; don't be in a guild where the people are habitually so inactive they can't open gifts twice a day

You can't kill a lv1 yet but you should still be hunting every time you have energy. The drops you get from just hitting the monsters will be invaluable to help you get started.
Try posting the monster in your guild chat so you can team up to all try killing one Monster until you leveled up your heroes enough that you can solo it. The gift from the kill will help the whole guild

Take the advice given to you by more experienced players.
There are heroes that do more/less damage to different types of monsters. This can result in a certain team doing MORE damage to the monster, even if they aren’t necessarily your “first five”

Second off, you can use different heroes and still have bonus for consecutive hits increase. They don’t have to be the same…has to be performed on same monster though

You can get slayer chests in Guild Fest. Upgrade and enhance heros for MH. Focus on them first. I have a feeling if I gave you a team for a specific monster you would say there is something wrong with it.
When it comes from me I have all mythic gear with gold jewels, all research related to MH at max level, castle skin for MH damage, all familiars related to MH at maximum level, missing 2 from Vergeway & have started tempering my gear (3 pieces level 1, 1 piece level 2 & 1 piece level 5). All heros are lvl 60, gold (F2P), rank 8 and have all trophies. Like many others here I know just a little bit about hunting monsters.

That's where saberfang skill is really good - familiar at max gives you once per day a boost so the first time you hit a monster it's the same damage as if you already hit 17 times. With that I can on my main and alt kill a lv4 Monster without pulling energy from bags. Or kill a Lv5 in only a few hits

A tip for all. Watch your battle. Example being Hootclaw. He stuns your team 4 times. This lowers your dmg. If you use a hero that jumps behind Hootclaw will stun that one hero twice. The rest of your team still does damage. For F2P demon slayer is a good choice. For P2P I use Twilight Priestess

Honestly it’s probs close to impossible to tell which physical lineup or which magical lineup is best for a certain monster objectively…there’s several monster hunting hero guides out there that differ in opinion alone. Personally I try to experiment to find out myself what works the best
At this point though, IGG has made too many monsters and too many heroes, and to compare teams for each level of a particular monster enough times to get a clear answer…it’s tedious

Every successive hit on the same Monster gives a small boost
So you can use 7x hits to kill in one go, or you can hit 1x hit until it's dead and only use 6 or maybe 5 energy hits
It's important to note that this damage boost is lost if you hit a different monster mid way. Always kill one Monster at a time
