Although a lot of randomness is included in hero skills, you can check for if any of your heroes is/are dying relatively faster. You can include tank and/or healer in place of some less damaging hero. In short, watch the battle, and do the needful.

Having hunting gear = more damage. But how it does actually work? Let's say a lv1 monster has a reward of 100gold. If you do 10% damage using x1 attack, you'll get 10gold. And if you use x1 attack and kill it instantly you get 100 gold. Right? I feel like reward is based on how much energy you spend and not on how much damage you inflict

When you hit a monster, there is a battle between the heroes you chosed and the monster, those heroes are not doing the exact amount of dmg every battle, one battle they might get with 1-2 hits less or more, I have no idea how else to explain, they just don't do a fixed amount of dmg everytime

You got a bit unlucky with the last monster, if you fight higher lvl monsters with lower lvl heroes, one of your heroes maybe died which won't necessarily happen every battle

Every battle can be different, you just got unlucky with the last one and did less dmg, sometimes I get even lower dmg on my second attack on a mh than on my first one, and there is also the dmg boost after the first hit

Watch the hunt battle video. You'll notice your heroes dying quicker as you go to a higher level. The healer may be giving you a better chance by reviving your heroes and not letting them die too quickly and hence dealing more damage to the monster. Just one possible explanation.

knowing this can save you lots of energy in the long run. instead of doing x6, you just set x5 or even x4 and save time and energy in the long run (several months or years)

It's not the luck factor. It's more like certain magic heroes deal more damage to you. Like for gargantua, swap green storm fox for child of light. And for noceros, use witch doll

Just some tweaks here and there. Once you get settled with a good lineup, you're good to go. Especially with the update in game where hunting heroes don't refresh anymore

There is an RNG factor involved. Your heroes can crit, do normal damage or do less damage than normal, and that is RNG.
I have had a hero team do 28% damage on one hit, 24% damage the next (in spite of the supposed increase in damage dealt) and 37% damage the next hit.

The problem is that this Armored Soul for the event is replacing one of the regular monsters daily when there are usually 3 in the day. I do not know if bon appeti was one of them.

The way to tell is look in the shop. If there are 3 packs available for separate monsters but only 2 monster types + the Armored Soul on the kingdom map, the missing one has been replaced.

I find the best way to hunt the armor soul monster is to hit lv1s only using a gray physical attack hero and hitting them *10 my guild mates take issue with me hunting lv1s and some of them don't care to hear me out but I don't understand why people prefer to waste energy on anything higher than lv1s energy that could be better used to hunt monsters that occasionally drop equipment matts
