ahah. From what I can tell the coliseum isn't a plain mathematical equation. a team A won't always win against a team B even if both attempt are with identical team.
Your heroes (and the one in front of you) seem to behave in few different way but globally follow the same set of rules (unclear set of rules). As an example, people often say that the demon slayer usually target the opponent with the highest magical power (and most of the time it seem true).

Also there is a lot of RNG involve in coliseum when your heroes are the same level or bellow the level of your opponent (the side effects of your heroes spell doesn't always trigger when the opponent is same level or higher).

Each week a bunch of heroes get a bonus on some aspect of their stats that can give you an edge.

Because of all that the best you can do is trial and errors (find a team that work well against another team. even if it's not an 100% win rate you can get close)

That the basics in my opinion. Some people most likely have a deeper understanding of how heroes behave and might be able to predict more accurately who would win in what situation but my knowledge isn't that deep

For those that missed what I said yesterday, I played mirror matches against the same guy and lost 12 in a row. Today I continued to find someone else also with exact same lineup, and lost 9 more in a row before finally winning the 10th one. That means I've lost 21 in total in mirror matches before I finally won one. This must be a record no?

The color indicates how much damage the hero can take.
The gear indicates how much damage/healing/whatever the hero can output.

So a gold hero will be able to take more damage than the same hero at green, and a hero at Rank 8 gear will output more healing/damage/whatever than at Rank 1.

I think that is what the Grade actually change. the "growth" (not 100% sure of course. It's just my supposition). Giving the name I assume it affect the stats you get from leveling up (not counting equipment, just the stats you get from levels). Rank in the other hand rely on the stats given by equipment. And it's a lot. It's almost certain than rank give you a lot more than grade. But at equal rank, the grade does make a big difference because having more stats in everything can save you (even if it's from a hair)

One advantage of prima over lore imo, is that when prima heals, she also heals all incoming damage while she's doing that weird twisting around in air stuff

Once lore heals, heroes still take incoming damage

Then again, when lore is killed, all surviving heroes are healed..

Yeah, hearing you on that one. There is no "unbeatable" lineup in Colosseum. You can spend thousands of $$$ on P2P heroes and still get pawned by a pure F2P lineup.

mm, I don't think that grey lore is better than gold prima in every cases. it depend on the team. because you know.. grey lore get easily killed by the demon slayer if she is focused by it. gold prima would resist longer in the same configuration. But if the healer isn't focused then maybe grey lore is better. I'm not sure.
Also for some unknown reason to me sometime prima trigger her ulti 2 time in the row (not sure why she get so much mana that quickly sometime but she does). When she does that it's crazy good

Everybody felt that at some point yes. But it's because you are still in the process to maxing out your heroes. with maxed out heroes you chill in the top 200 without too much issues (I even got first once. and it was with free heroes even. from the statue I mean. I almost never use the so called "p2p" heroes because I only have those from limited challenges and they are almost all grey)
So just continue upgrading you heroes and you situation will improve

Not true, really, some of the P2P heroes have good synergy abilities, that's why you tend to see big guy and lore weaver a lot
