You probably need to train the familiars in the gym to level them up more too.

By defense if you mean wall....there are 2 standard F2P fam lineups

1. Magmalord + Jaziek + Terraspike (Pact 1)
   For 3 slots
   Needs 600 red orbs to max all 3 (200 each)
2. Aquirius + Evil Weevil(Pact 2)
   For 2 slots
   Needs 800 orbs to max both (400 each)

Don't put Pact 3 ever on wall they require 10% of dead troops that means if you have 2-5M troops of 1 type you need 200k-500k killed for just 1 type boost that too won't be worth and every pact 3 atk except gryphon takes 800 red orbs to max each (hard F2P)

It's really not that hard to get frostwing maxed f2p from Tycoon. Sure it's a marathon, but not much harder than getting watcher, T4, pact 4, all those things people say are "P2P only". Training the damn thing takes longer

Agreed. There is some stuff that I would still consider p2p even if "technically" f2p could have them such as T5 (because it would take literal decades to do so in f2p). But getting Frostwing to it's last stage is definitely possible if you really invest all of your gems in it. It probably doesn't worth the effort though as it will still take a long time and slow down your progression quite a bit while you are focusing on it

Besides I haven't really spent money since T5. I have used less than 100 dollars the last year. Sure it's more than f2p but it's not really much in LM. Buying jade and counter hero also don't really affect my gems much.

I have played for 1200 days, got no more research and have little to spend on, off cause am I going to have a ton of gems.
I have been in RUm and RUb for most of my playtime. Getting 2k gifts a day makes a big difference long term.

There is more than 1 pure f2p in the guild and even more that has stopped spending.

I know I'm luckier than most when it comes to gems but my chest drops sucks. I would happily exchange luck. Gems only get you so far without regular barging shop.

I have experienced people that paid 500 gems for randoms, I have never had to do that and even relos I rarely have to buy. Saves a lot of gems.

Why 3 spires ?

If you have the runes all ready destroy 2 spires and get 2 gyms to get 40% more training speed . Maybe destroy some of the springs and replace with gyms if you're sure you have enough runes for your familiars and won't need to go back to a spring heavy setup

But obviously keep 1 spire and maybe 1 spring if you want to . You need to get fragments to actually level up the skill if you don't have enough

When I was merging pacts 1, 2 and 3 and training rarity 1, 2 and 3 familiars I had 5 Springs, 2 Gyms and 1 Spire.
Now I’m merging only pact 4 for fragments, training only rarity 4 and 5 familiars and merging skillstones for my attack familiars I use 5 Springs, 2 Spires and 1 Gym.

I just check the wiki, you would need 1600 brillant talent orb to max out the battle skill of one rarity 5 familiar. at 712500 the 100 orb that would be 11 400 000 gems. Sure, you get some from events but in so low quantity that to get the 1600 needed you'll need to finish a loooooot of them. As a f2p you'll have to focus on only doing those events if you want to have a chance to max one out.
