If you're asking from a perspective of hiding troops to protect against attacks while unshielded, putting them in a camp means they can be killed in the camp.

Garrison with a guild mate is generally safer, but you're dependent on the guild mate not dropping their shield (or refreshing the shield or relocating) when you're not online to resend.

If you're a newish player with small castles, you're going to find it difficult to manage so many castles. Focus on one and get that good before you go crazy with alts. Heck, pick one to be your main, and level that up, put 24h shield on it and then garrison your other castles' troops and leader there
