Best way to bait is keep ur real gear low grade and just go crazy on evrrything else non visual, even artifacts if you dont touch anything other than the ATKs, Leader ATKs etc u can keep ur artifacts looking low and still push out 50+ stats

For f2p scroll + Frost sword is the much better choice than skull crusher. Ultimately skullcrusher is better, but if you can't get it upgraded what's the point.
Skullcrusher costs 3x that of scroll. Frostwing sword is cheap and solid in a mix set. Accessories are generally expensive.

I too had terrible luck with frostwing. And I started out building a skullcrusher before I began making a scroll. I don't regret that, but it was a much longer slower grind to get basic mix gear.

But I open champ chests and get mane after mane.

People say frostwing is easy and yes it's got one of the highest drop rates. But if you're getting the Super Savings pack and massive discounts, you aren't getting frostwing chests to open regularly, so it might be slower than other things.

It's very good but try only going for 1 item of the same type at the time. The cups are really hard to upgrade especially if you are f2p. Same with your main hand and the wyrmbone coronet (you should focus the wyrmbone as it also gives research speed)

Aprox 1 Gold Halo per 500 tokens) Also Mythic lunar scimitar is the best option for a mix off hand until you get your mitts to gold. And I’d swap the vial for another blight ring.

It's endlessly debatable which is the actual best - the pieces are somewhat interchangeable between the two sets. You can slightly rebalance your stats one way or the other, depending on which pieces you got lucky drops to make first or what jewels you have or what blasts sets you're making, etc

With the exception of the scroll and the skullcrusher, none of those pieces are from the same Monster set, so they don't contradict and you can (should) make them all anyway as you'll need them in various blasts.

The frostwing sword is the other slight exception in that there's a better "best in slot" piece to replace it in almost every situation, but it's traditionally used as a starter main hand because it's cheap to make, frostwing are one of the easiest monsters to kill and the boxes have one of the highest drop rates for the ultra rare materials - and because you don't need frostwing pieces for anything else ever. That sword works well in a mix set and in all 3 blasts for most people it takes a very long time to build up the best in slot replacements for it.

No, always def in mix gear/talents. The overall gain from all troops is much larger than single troop type boosted by 100% or 200% in blast.

Further more, mix gear has or at least should have high army hp instead of single hp type for blast. It will prevent high casualties from paid fams if your largest squad happens to be anything else than front line.

Plus if you screw switching counter in mix gear, it's bad but survivable. If you will have wrong gear, line and talents. You are finished.

I don't want to burst your bubble, but real talk time: T3 solo traps can still work. But if you're f2p and sub level 60 gear... You'll get wrecked. Make the push to get a proper mix set and be lv60 before you start taking hits.

I literally just watched my guildmate solo a "f2p solo trap" that had 14m troops but only mediocre sub lv60 gear, and we got walkback from a solo hit and then burned it easily.

Meanwhile, we have a 180m might solo trap in our guild with the same comp but lv60 gear not f2p and he's capping big lead gangbangs over and over.

I’m not sure where exactly this question belongs, so just gonna ask it here. Generally, in a fort battle, would someone with 975k t5/t4 mix (who owns an 11k hero, non tempered champ gear and mythic cups) be able to win against a leaderless 3.6m t4/t5 troops? Assume the base stats of the person defending are all around 250%. An issue came up a couple months ago where a guildmate questioned my ability to be able to take on about 1m troops w leader compared to my 3.6m troops in the fort I was holding leaderless

They ended up cancelling the rally (which shows I was most likely right that they wouldn’t win), but the person who questioned me still has her doubts. I can get into the fams and heroes I was using to defend if that’s needed, but only if necessary

Hmm, I get what you guys are saying. People are usually pretty weak when holding something leaderless. I have 137 castle stars and over 300+ artifacts enhanced (w 560 levels) though, greatly increasing the leaderless stats. I’m still working on getting more P2P heroes gold, so I probably was defending with blue/purple army atk heroes at the time. I only had the F2P fams in there since was saving my P2P ones for rally targets. But it still wouldn’t be enough to rival less than 1/3 of the troops coming at me with leader?

I feel gold F2P heroes are much better than blue/purple P2P ones in forts because of that squad ATK damage.

If the counter boost difference is big, then leaderless 3M might easily win against 975K leadered but all this is situational.

I think in that specific instance with 3 fillers you probably would have won the battle, but it would have done enough damage that you'd then be soloable. I imagine they cancelled from fear of getting capped with only 3 fillers - reasonable risk. But tbh 5 fillers and they could knock you. Other factors are T5 percentage , sigils... Why not just set up a similar lineup and test it next Dragon arena.

I don't think you'd necessarily have lost the battle, but it would be too close for comfort and risking a lot. Especially if a 150* lead then just solos you out. I've seen some nutty hits from solos when people attack forts that are held leaderless

To my knowledge, the only P2P heroes that are included in passive stats include necroduke, magmaroid, and sand sage, all which are green/blue. The other ones are included separately. Yes, my main boosts come from castle stars (all the attack ones maxed) and artifacts. Also all my research maxed for boosting attack stats besides fury offense for siege lol

It's personal choice if you prefer the boots with travel speed and army HP, or the offhand for the training speed and 2-type attack boost.

Personally I would recommend the boots because army HP is worth it and you'd use the boots in your mix set as well as blast.

It's really tricky because the Light could be used also in my infantry blast as it's quite poor now. The army HP could be "levelled up" with a gold champ jewel (15%).

But travel speed is so cool too.

I have both the champ strides and the champ light. I use the light in my inf blast and cav blast. Which isn't ideal because of sacrificing jewels across 2 blasts, but I don't have the jewels anyway, and my dedicated cav offhand isn't mythic yet.

The boots are incredibly useful as they go in mix set as well as the inf blast. And speed set with sigils for filling wonders.

Obviously travel speed is just quality of life so it's not a primary concern. But it does save you using some wing boots

Meanwhile, training speed can pay for itself over time if you're making a lot of troops.

Ultimately the pros and cons are pretty balanced and it's personal choice. I'd be considering what pieces you have in existing blasts that you'll be replacing as the final decoding factor

Thank you Ann, I like your "quality of life" expression. It means a lot because when you set many things, you always need good speed gear. It's not actual ATT or HP, but it can change things sometimes. I personally like fast movements, without being full-75%boots-sped up.

Your last argument is also excellent, and it will make me choose one because of what it adds to current blasts.
I guess for me the light is more interesting as my dragon talon are already mythical, with good army HP so the boots in remplacement of dragon talons is not an exceptional improvement. My inf legs are not bad either, so for the blast, again, not an exceptional gain.
