My skull crusher was was more easily made purple compared to frostwing sword, though I didn't rely on drops. Drops are good if you're P2P with lots of chests but brains can reliably be obtained from events. From my frostwing drops my FW sword is at 0/4 for gold while my skull crusher is at 2/9 for gold.

Yep. As a low spender: save up your gems for bargain store. Get into a guild that does the highest level events you can - master guild fest if possible. Do all exchange extravaganza and similar events with rare materials or monster chests. Pay attention to hells that have chests you need.

For spending: the 99c super savings pack is unbeatable. If you can afford to get it every day it will give you a huge boost. Also it doesn't come up every single day, sometimes there's a break - use those days to save up for when you can get a material madness during BOGO. Even if you do this just once at the highest level you can afford (especially if you get a full run to unlock elite) you will have a massive boost on your gear. Plus with elite unlocked, just the daily free spin on lab will give you 11x rewards which is worth it over time.
Do still Hunt though, just don't get your hopes up for a rare material drop from it

This is a very nice idea. However if you're f2p, before you think of spending a single gem in tycoon, make sure that your remaining gems are atleast 201k after buying tockens with gems. Bargain store just appears mysteriously and there will be little time to accumulate gems f2p. 201k gems for the "4" ultra-rares provided by bargain store.

Last time there were 4 rares. Idk if it'll be that way in the coming bargain stores

Actually, if you're f2p 201k gems is not enough of a buffer.

Just because one bargain store had that doesn't mean the next one will. Every bargain store has been different. Far smarter to have a bigger buffer of gems to account for possible bargain stores, for possible needing relocates or shields, for emergency saving a GF quest if you run out of speeds or stars or something etc.

I suggest saving up a buffer closer to 500k before you spend much on Tycoon (or anything), but this should only take a few weeks to a couple of months in an active guild (even a mostly f2p guild).

Not lv1. The higher level Monster the more chance of higher level material. But the drop rates are so low you could Hunt hundreds and never see that Ultra rare

Monster level 4 good for material, but not on the purple level, IGG should fix this issue for about at least 10% chance or IGG already designing the system just like this. Level 1 = mostly resources and common material
Level 2 = mostly gems and speed up
Level 3 = shield and gems and speed up
Level 4 = shield and gems and materials and sometimes it can go worst for a common material that even not rare type
Level 5 = shield and gems and resources etc, well actually it is the only worth it monster level beside level 4. The other are little sucks

At least hunting Lv5 you have a chance of getting 2x drop of the gold rarity Ultra rare material. Small chance, but it's a chance.
