Counters. They are worth it. They are relatively cheap. Being f2p you're unlikely to get into the big war guilds where sigils are required (it's a really small percentage of guilds so don't stress on it), and t5 is simply too costly. Even if you could save up all the tomes needed for the research, you can't afford the lunite and crafting speeds, and you can't afford to heal those troops even if you did manage to make some a few years down the line.

Once you've done counters, aim for helmet sigil only (like Xan said)

If you get countered, you take ~15% less losses with a wedge

But it has it bad side

When you counter in a wedge, you take more losses than in a phalanx but it has minimal effect... as you see only 500troops

Anyway, for F2P, I would suggest you to remove the Mythic Pirate's eye-patch & forge Lost Island Relic for now & focus on Ambrossial cup/Blight ring(off course can only be upgraded to Blue or purple by F2P).. The other 2 accessories are good choices, keep improving them.

For the off-hand, Lunar scimitar is for recent use & Winter mitts for long run, considering you would be getting Snowbeast chest daily & they have decent drop rates.

Helmet : Focus on Beast helm (not BumbleHelm)since you're already going for Queen Bee Armor.

honestly for most of that gear, 4-5 mats at most... Pulling one gold from each chest will get it to blue, 2-3 for purple. After that it's a huge leap, but still worth to grind them out. Cups will take much longer, and I wouldn't stress about them too much, maybe spend $20 on a token pack each time they come in tycoon
