I made Cavalry Champ legs when I started and made it to mythic. Now, I have to build the next piece and I heard that people build their pieces centred around what types of formations they use while holding forts.
If I had done inf legs, I could simply follow the mainstream pieces next like cav helm, cav sword, etc but seeing as I made a different piece, I thought I could learn about the formations in detail so I can see which piece to work on next.

For heroes , avoid using 1 hero of the frontline that you're going to use , ESPECIALLY never use 1 range hero with range phalanx
The best ratio is 122 , the most flexible, second is 221
Whether to use 122 or 221 depends more on how many range the enemy has more than how much infantry/cavalry you have. Sometimes a 442 needs to use 122 heroes ( 1 inf 2 range 2 cav) , but generally it follows 221 because you don't always know what you're hitting

For fams , you need to use jade wyrm in every march , after that you want to use a shield familiar for your most used frontline ( snowbyyyy for range heavy comps, saberfang for 424s) , you use drider if you are going to use range Phalanx otherwise gryphon, and 2 p5s mostly bunny and frostwing

A 424 Variant rarely needs drider unless it's fighting blasts , drider is situational so either very good or useless

With the PDF I sent you , that should be 90% of WoW explained
