UPDATE: Once the number of troops in the Divine Retribution is under 3m, the timer stops resetting when you click on it.

This means that if you have 5m troops for example in Divine Retribution, you will lose any troops over 3m if you don't click it every 6 hours (i.e. set a timer when you go to sleep). It also indicates that 3m troops will be safe no matter what.
