the sea horse need to be dead as fast as possible. after that its super easy to kill the others because they dont have this shield.

Even if you hit the jackpot on the chest, which is about 1 in 1000 if I remember right, you still only get enough to hire the hero...and then need to come up with another 320 medals to get it to gold and actually have it be useful.
