I don't think Elite lab or not makes THAT much of a difference for getting materials. You only get 11x materials for 10x the holy stars, so elite is slightly better, but hardly a waste without it. The only times elite makes a huge difference are on getting 11x for the free attack each day and for doing hell events

In the long run, like I said, you'll be getting very nearly the same amount of materials for a given number of stars spent. Just less times clicking the button to get them with elite

It's purely decorative and has no stat boost, so therefore it's a negative boost

Instead you could get 2000 1 minute speeds for the same cost. That's 33 hours of speeds. Not doing any extra for this event will also save you many many speeds. You decide what's more worthwhile.
