It may seem like I'm slacking during this creator turf, but the truth is, I just have bigger ideas and it was hard to decide which one should be the first. Don't ask about the conception, I was really tired when it came to my mind...🤣
The current creator turf theme suggestions are: Lords Mobile x Pacific Rim collab and IGG 19th anniversary. I guess I nailed it. 😆
It's not perfect, but I had fun with this one in the past few days. Also as I'm that kind of artist who prefers to work with a smaller color palette with paints, most of the colors and shades were mixed during painting, this added the extra fun.

You can't compare hours or days of work with a prompt you wrote in a few mins and then let AI generate from pre-existing images, including real artists work.
Put effort in practice and do fanarts by yourself instead, even if it's not easy. I was drawing my most detailed creator turf entry for literally a month, and now working on an embroidery since last december. I definitely do not fancy racing with more AI "artists" lol.
We also already have enough AI users and fake view/reaction buyer creators who are slipping through the judges (hopefully those get exposed soon). Be different, and be awesome instead.
Anyone who read until this, my dms open if you want to try your luck with traditional art entries and need some tips. 🎨

They do. Read an event description about special prizes once, you will see. Since entries with the highest views, reactions win diamonds, some certain creators numbers are suddenly increased, but they don't have real views or reactions and all their numbers look too even compared to the times before diamond prizes. And no, not the algorithm helped them. They also have some other strange behavior with their entries. Some of them are not even hiding the fact they are cheating, talking about it freely. Now I'm not going into deep details, but I've been studying the whole thing for months, running statistics, recording evidence, and mailing with IGG about the results. Some creators are already being monitored closely by IGG and they are at a high risk of being banned.

If you really didn't mean to make it personal, I apologise, I took the "You" as an aggressive thing. Well alright, AI art is not stolen art. If you want to think of it this way, well isn't all art stolen? If you want to go philosophical about it, when an artist draws a nature portrait, isn't he technically stealing from nature? When an artist goes to art galleries to get "inspirations" isn't he technically stealing others' works? Here either you sound like who think you are smart, and so far as I experienced most of the times AI users the ones who feel offended about this theme as those who really have art knowledge, or just eyes for it, won't accept it as real art.
Comparing it with nature portraits or any traditional art is just silly. Those who do them still have years or decades of practicing techniques, using materials.
My whole studies were built on traditional art, later learnt digital stuff. Am I a pro? No, I'm still improving myself. Am I experienced enough despite it? Yes. I know bunch of techniques on different medias.
Did I win art contests with my skills? Yes, several times. Won in 2024 CT awards as well.
Did I try to generate stuff with Ai? Was it a "successful project"? Yes and yes, i wanted to understand how the whole thing works. And I can confirm, using AI is not a big deal. I know how to write prompts, yet I'd never use AI for any art contests as it can't even get close to real art. The reason is simple, I have standards and I use my own works only. AI stealing arts from real artists and using materials from them. It's not ethical, also by using AI generated things as your own you can have some serious copyright infringement issues.
Telling you have ideas but you can't draw. And what holds you back from grabbing a pencil and a paper and start to practice? Being able to do art is not always about having the skills for it. It's putting effort in learning, practicing. With this "I have no talent to draw, why can't I just use AI", you just say you're lazy for practicing and you don't want to put any effort but you would want to get the same prizes as those get who work a lot on their work.

If you want to make your vision come true, maybe trying digital art would be a great first step. Many digital creators using free mobile apps or free apps on PC/laptop/tablet. You don't need to have expensive tools for the start. Currently I have a wacom board that cost me about $66 and it's perfect for a start. I got it only because the phone screen is too small for me and I have a huge phone, yet I'm not comfortable with that. 😂Also at a point easier to do digital stuffs as you can use references easier, open the picture in the app, draw over it on another layer. I saw many creators who started like this first. In my very first adobe illustrator lesson my teacher said, if you can draw over the Coca Cola logo, then you will be able to do anything. So first try to start practicing. I saw some really great improvements since I follow creator event and other creators. But it needs time and dedication. Watching tutorials, use references, like poses. Those are very useful. Once you start caring about it, you will find your own style too.

When i started to do CT, I had a full time job, did part time in a pub, part time in weekend events in a neighboring country (was serving chimney cakes there), tried to study, and was writing articles for 3 different themed online platforms (books, music, movies), all required participation on live events, and interviewing writers, musicians as well. Now a typical perfect life influencer would say, it's easy peasy, only losers can't handle this. But I will be honest: I don't recommend it 😂 Never ever overwhelm yourself like that, it will backfire later. And I see you already do a lot. I have about the half of energy than average ppl due to chronic illness and being neurodivergent, and probably I was able to do it only because it was the way to escape from something else. I let some activities go that were too exhausting after a while. It's a process tho. First you do everything and then you will see, which activities dominate, which keeps your interest more. That part is the hardest ride of it. So if you want to try digital art, without any spend, maybe just try some apps first. As a stress relief or anything and you will see if you're interested in it or not.

I don't say I didn't feel like that haha But sometimes that's how surviving looks, so you don't have time and energy left to focus on reality. The hardest part is switching hobbies as you still stick to some. But once some do not give you as much joy as before, it slowly, but will change and will be easier to let it go or just take a break with it. I had hobbies that I did for 10+ yrs and now I'm taking a break. Later I will see if it's really a break or I'm done with it. 😆

Honestly, I found 2 issues with this. Otherwise it’s pretty good.
First is the time when the crow flies away, the wings aren’t connected to its body properly, making the entire wing flap very unnatural. I think the wings are only connected at the top with 1 point ?
Second is the crow ( raven ?) flying in to the screen after which the logo appears - the crow flies in face forward but suddenly it’s showing its back to the screen right as it disappears.

That's actually really helpful feedback, thank you so much for catching those details! 😍 You're absolutely right about both points, the wing connection needs a smoother anchor so the flap looks more natural, and the final turn when the crow flies in could definitely use better direction flow before transitioning to the logo.

When I saw the @viscid cloud and @simonelegno collaboration and the new cute designs in the game, I got the idea to draw some heroes with similar cuteness. First I imagined simple waves in the background, but every artist knows how it works: sometimes the more you work on something, the more ideas hit you. I ended up adding more details. And more. And more... So you can see the final result. I used mixed technique, mostly alcohol markers, and some colored pencils for the skin as my colors in markers are limited. Also added a very little shine with metallic watercolor paint. ✨
I know I'm not even close to @tokidokibrand 's style and I'm not as cool as him, but I got excited anytime a new idea hit to expand this drawing and it was a challenge to pick the colors and decide which ones should be near each other.
So if you think it's easy to create fanarts that fit this collab... Yes, first I thought the same and then I learnt the lesson. 😂 I enjoyed every moment of it, I really needed a colorful start for the year. 🌈

Unfortunately not all. A few months ago someone's AI entries got outstanding rewards, meanwhile they were screaming AI. The "creator" was even bragging about it. And even if most are not getting high rewards, they get participation rewards at least. I tested it on a fake account for a few months even tho I have to vomit from AI and I hated every moment of it. IGG don't really show any actions against AI users and cheaters. See the tons of fake interaction buyers who even get diamond rewards when even the engagement rate and comment section proves they bought the interactions.

I also acknowledge that AI-generated visuals cannot be directly compared to the long-term labor and skill behind hand-drawn art. My intention is not to mislead anyone or gain an unfair advantage. Within the scope of the competition, I try to create the best visuals I can while respecting the rules and being transparent about the process. I don’t believe creating AI visuals is as easy as it may seem from the outside. In any case, I wish everyone the best of luck in the competition.

I tried it out by myself too and it's really not a big deal. Writing a prompt correctly may take a little time, but don't call it art. AI is using up other artists works. By using AI and bringing it into an art contest you don't respect artists at all.

Lords Mobile already allows participants to enter the contest and receive rewards by simply sharing official in-game content. If my only goal were the rewards, I could have easily done that instead. Recreating Lords Mobile characters with AI in a way that closely matches their original design actually requires a lot of effort and time. I’m not trying to replace traditional art or redefine what art is — I’m simply participating in the contest in a way I personally enjoy. At the end of the day, I’m just here to have fun with the competition.

There will always be AI users who will act like getting results is that hard. I'm a traditional artist who works on many different medias, I tried digital art too as some digital tools like Adobe programs are part of my profession. I used AI when it meant Adobe Illustrator. I made old-school style dress up paper dolls in illustrator. Animated 3D in After Effects. I created polygonal portraits in Photoshop from many smaller and bigger triangles drawing them one by one, made text portraits in InDesign and so many other stuff, so I have zero tolerance for lazy solutions. I tried AI (artificial intelligence) too to get more views into that, trying to understand the hype around it. And no, it's not as hard as AI users want us to believe. AI is the tool of lazy people, it shouldn't even show up in any art challenges. These users need to understand, by using AI they are supporting stealing from real art pieces of real artists (if you ask chatgpt it will deny the fact tho). Official assets from the LM asset library are different, at least those are official stuff for lazy people. I think those shouldn't count as valid entries either tho, but if I was part of the CT team who judges, official asset entries should get only participation prizes too, and not even a chance for special prizes. It's really disappointing when someone uploads an official asset and then buys 1m+ fake views and 10k+ reactions and they win multiple diamond prizes. Meanwhile real creators who participate for years, give quality work, spending on art supplies or digital tools, put real effort, coming up with several new ideas every month, have zero chance for any extra appreciation.
So after that, I'm not happy to see the weakening of the creator community, not happy for AI entries and fake interaction buyers either. Back in time this community was like a fine wine. Now it's completely watered down and the real creators count as a minority.

Even tho the question was addressed to someone else, I can reply with what I witnessed so far. During CT many AI slips through the judging phase (even tho they say they don't get anything, unfortunately they do) and gets at least participation prizes, but on some servers sadly AI even got outstanding 🥲 And you can give suggestions to IGG how to improve their event, they don't care, especially since even IGG using AI. Luckily other games creator events asking full WIP pictures, videos and AI entries will guarantee a disqualification, but sadly many LM "creators" still sneaking into other creator events with their AI and fake interaction bs. 😅

You technically don't need to go to art school for that. My friend circle back in school was full of people who drew, so through constantly sharing their artwork on same project I gradually started drawing

I studied in art school. And everyone else I know in person or online from different countries, also studied in art schools, said the same and experienced the same as me: art schools take away more than give. They destroy. Before art school I had my own style and techniques. In art school? They didn't let the students express themselves, we had to fit ourselves in criterias, follow strict plans and the teacher's personal imagination and instead of learning, we had to reduce our skills and knowledge into standards. When it came to reviewing our works, those weren't based on how we progressed compared to ourselves or how we managed to complete the task, our grades were based on if the teacher liked it or if they had a good mood or not. We had to fit ourselves into a grey cube to please a standard plan while we all were different shapes and colors. Art school is good to give you a paper for successfully finished studies, but it can destroy your own individuality, and kill creativity. It takes a long time to recover from that and discover yourself again, or many never ever recover from that. If someone experienced differently, I'm happy for them, but I didn't hear good experiences about art schools from artists yet. 😆 My teachers were older generation tho, maybe millennials or gen Z can give better experience for students tho, they see the world differently.
If anyone wants to learn, I'd either suggest courses for different techniques, or watch art tutorials in the styles you have interests in. There are many freely accessible sources for those who want to learn.
And anyway, I'd either see thousands of tries that you feel like a failure or just bad, than seeing AI slops.

Just unfortunately as IGG doesn't filter AI out well and even they use AI in some posts, more ppl will follow this tendency. This time there's AI generated entri(es) in the top10 of the IGG hub avatar frame design contest too. I asked them how it can even happen, but I'm pretty sure they won't reply

That's nice, just you know, I hate knowing, there were tons of participants with individual ideas that really would be a good fit on hub, and someone loses their opportunity but even an AI slop gets the top10 reward instead of someone else who had hard work in it. 🥲 I'm not pissed for not getting into the top10, who cares (I will use up my entries in CT lol), just I know other creators who also participated with real effort and didn't even get a chance. Last time they did this contest, the final winner was a poorly edited one from downloaded pics from google. But the final executed design that appeared on IGG hub was either a copy from someone else's entry. So idk if you get it, just annoying to see, last time they gave the main prize to someone and in the end they copied a totally different design 🤦♀️ Probably this will happen again.

@severe nest impressive efforts! Keep them coming :) I know someone who is an amazing artist and the one thing I picked up from her - it's not talent; it's hard work and practise. She gets irritated when people see her work and say something like "omg that's so good I wish I was so lucky to be talented like you", and she's like "grrrrr it's not luck or natural talent, I work hard at it, I study technique, I practice!"
So if you feel like you suck at drawing faces, practise!
