familiars you can recruit by merging pacts 1-4 or tycoon/pack for other 7. familiars have different stats added with each skill like rss prod, march speed, passive stats, fury stats, leader escape and more. Then there are skills you can use skillstones to activate by merging them in the spire like getting your leaderback with bunny, and sending everything that would make wounded troops into dead troops. And there are skills that dont need skillstones to be used like giving free troops and increase rss sending capacity.

familiars start from hatchling level 1-20 then you can upgrade them to adult with enough runes level 21-50 then finally again to elder 51-60

some fams have only 1 skill while others can have up to 3 and unlocked throughout hatchling, adult, elder

yes. improve all heroes. at the beginner account focus first on the hero that reduce construction and research time though (scarlet bolt, tracker). but all heroes are usefull in a way or another. (oath keeper improve your infantry stats if deploy in battle if I remember correctly as an example).
after you finish improving the heroes helping you with construction and research I'll suggest you to improve heroes that are good for coliseum and monster hunting (such as rose knight, tracker, demon slayer, black crow, prima donna etc..). You can check the ideal composition for monster hunting somewhere in this discord server (there is a bot that tell you).

if you want to be battle ready quicker you can focus on heroes that improve your troops stats earlier than those that help you with coliseum and monster though (sometime they are one and the same though)

You can have a defense set and an attack set. when your army is out and you are attacked, you can switch to the defense set for the defense stats. You can then change to the attack set before your army gets there, and those stats will be applied.

when you leader is capped you wont get any of the "leader deployed stats"

this includes gear

you will receieve passive boosts from gear even when capped, so if you capped in construction/research or another farm gears you will receieve those boosts. so if you forgot to swap gears before rally and got ported on, at least you got that travel speed

I would say that it's more complicated than that. It's true that you could reduce f2p to not spending money, but what about the guys that spend like 1$ 2 years ago never since ? there is absolutely no difference with them and someone that never spend anything.

it really depend where you are at in the game in my opinion. If you still need to get some items to upgrade the prison, battle hall, tresore trove and autel then I would say wait for guild fest, take a quest asking you to spend gems and use the gems to buy the item you need for the building.
If you already have all those building upgraded then save it for whenever you need to do infernal or challenges or buying shields

It brings your guild to the new kingdom, so your guild will be able to partake in the rankings, of lords ball, kvk etc

I've seen guild use a dead kingdom then migrate out without changing ks just for those

The only solution is to abandom the guild and create a new guild shell. Because unfortunately the same guild cannot contain both members that are in a migration restricted kingdom, and a partially restricted kingdom.
