he's both a healer & fighter for mk11. he can morph into one of his opponents in their team which makes him able to turn into a fighter too then more of a supporter, just like turning into mk11 scorp or klassic liu kang for example and playing with their specials (he does not use their passive tho). he heals a mk11 teammate by 35% when they defeat an opponent, mk11s are strong so they should defintely be able to. shang tsung can heal from his sp2 that has "vampirism", that allows him to heal massively if he defeats an opponent along with it too.

• the best mk11 team for shang tsung is: rain, raiden, shang tsung.

this is because rain gives his mk11 teammates %400 recovery, so they can recover when tagged-out and improves the healing. rain applies soaked on the opponent (he has a chance to team soak) and raiden then can do sp2 which causes lightning attacks and do the highest sp2 damage in the game. raiden then gets to defeat an opponent with so much damage and heal from it. shang tsung also has a strategy to morph into a raiden if he fights one, with soak applied shang tsung can do lightning attacks as morphed into raiden and deal his own damage too.

overall, when shang tsung fights on his own without morphing. he has decent basics and both combo enders. his sp2 vampirism is a must (it has to unblockable), this allows him to heal massively along with defeating the opponent and tagging-out to recover health from rain. when he is below 2 bars of power, he gains his own so not a worry about his power bar. he even has his own brutality gear which adds a point to a character so that he can finish off an opponent with low health faster than using death mark. brutal ending talent in the offense tree of talent tree allows you to do brutality on 3 opponents of their team

dark fate is the best tank in the game, the character to defend your team. he's better than guardian, who tags-in just to sacrifice himself and dark fate has his own ressurection what makes himself way more tanky and immune to dots. he has top most health in the game and is more a tank since he takes less damage than others. you can put him in any team to tank, especially with spec ops teammates or you can use him in faction wars survivor. spec ops teammates taking 15% less damage is another reason why he's the tank in the game, he keeps his teammates tough. so you can use a spec ops booster like for attack in the team since terminator has your back and lets your spec ops teammates take less damage. but he can be put in any team too just to tank for upcoming defense and he's a good fighter too. it would be for like opponents that have 2 special bars ready and he could just tag-in and block that. whenever in case he dies, he can still get revenant and recover health from tagging-out or just turn into endoskeleton and you'd have to fight with his basics only (he still does decent damage and he's more tanky then). he's immune to xrays & krushing blows (and brutalities in endoskeleton form only) so it's not easy to kill him. using the rare equipment "t-800 endoskeleton arm" is terminator's legacy equipment and boosts his health a ton, making him more tanky.

the best strategy for him is: df terminator, sf scorp, guardian terminator (it's immortal, hard to defeat)

these characters all in the team have spec ops class so they take less damage from df terminator's passive. either df terminator or guardian can be the fighter while sf scorp can just save them if they die (unless opponent has death mark or brutality to prevent ressurections), don't let sf scorp die tho. anytime opponent does special on df terminator (even his endoskeleton) or sf scorp, guardian can tag-in and block it & reducing the damage. give these characters recovery boost to regain health on tagged-out.

They are other cards with great abilities , just not being utilized properly ,try cos team mainly go for cards like Quan chi ,sub zero , Kung Lao ,Liu Kang ,kw Sub-Zero , klassic goro is fun , ravenous meleena ,wretched dvorah ,Ronin team is a good start up too

he is the 3rd best character in the game & the 2nd best mk11 fighter after mk11 scorp.

his deathmarks
he applies guaranteed death mark on specials + has brutality gear so if you have the brutality gear then you can prevent ressurections on both specials (with his death mark debuff) & combo ender (so you don't have to use death mark in talent tree if you use mk11 noob and you can use brutal ending when using brutality gear to do brutality on all 3 opponents of their team). the death mark also increases damage the more times you stack it on the opponent.

his passive
his sp2 is unblockable which summons his shadow, his shadow is his clone to fight with and this is to keep mk11 noob also protected from upcoming damage so he can sacrifice his shadow. even with his shadow, he still does deal pretty well damage and you should spam with the shadow. mk11 noob has tag-in attack to distract the opponent and attacking the opponent quickly after whenever tagging-in & his shadow clone is a distraction & lastly, mk11 noob and his mk11 teammates blocking a special attack from the opponent which you can do anytime, summons noob's shadow interrupting the opponent and you can just attack them. also keep in remind that he gets his shadow from sp2 and he can do it 3 times. even without his shadow, it's good to spam his sp2 that's unblockable. so you can kill your opponent with dealing much damage and with death mark preventing any ressurections. he gives +50% crit and lethal damage for any netherrealm teammates.

best mk11 team & cos for him
for mk11 team, he goes well the best with: scorp, sub0/jade. this makes the best team in the game (2 very offensive with same class and a supportive as sub0 for ressurection or jade for healing from dots & same class)
for cos team, he goes well the best with: cos liu kang, cos sub0 (deal lethals & crits with boosted damage from mk11 noob + liu kang's vampirism from lethals), this team becomes the best in faction wars mostly
