Yes. It’s called Relic Hunt, an event that comes every few months which gives an opportunity to unlock/fuse Shao Kahn, as well as earn extra Fragments to prepare for the next event. It hasn’t came in a while now (last seen in April), so it may be coming soon. For now, you can do the Shao Kahn Tower in order to stock up on fragments. Each run = about 60/70 fragments. Do not refresh the tower but be sure to do the 3 attempts regularly

Kombatant I is the minimum you should be at in order to get a free challenge gold. And since there are two FW season per week, that means 2 challenge golds PER week. You will grow rapidly in no time
