Any ideas on what determines which he uses? Also, occasionally he discards the knife at some point. Any ideas why he does that? And I like the way light shines out of his mask as he evades an opponent's special attack. Are there any other characters with two or more versions of their special attacks that don't require specific equipment.

Oh, that's because they are obtainable through different means.

Normal golds are golds that are considered non-challenge, meaning you can directly buy from the store for 250 Souls and are not given out through challenges.

Challenge golds are obtained from the Challenge gamemode after completing all five towers, or are alternatively purchased for 450 souls in the Shop. Additionally, some kard packs with chances for specific pack-exclusive characters usually drop challenge characters.

The Jason Voorhees pack has a high chance of getting a Challenge Gold instead of any of the Jasons, which is usually how most packs function.

@paper osprey never ever spend souls on diamond packs if you're just starting. Spend souls only on Gold Packs until you're able to do every challenge in hard. When you have a decent collection of gold characters, you can try your luck on diamond packs only if you feel lucky or those packs are discounted. Be sure to have a gold team at FX which you can do event towers such as Tower of Horror, Lin Kuei Tower or the upcoming one

Injustice Scorpion is like a joke card though. And even here I have to give him credit for having fire on SP2. You're right in so far, that both play very similar, but the SP2 of Ninjutsu is absolutely atrocious

On stock fusion it already gives 15% attack boost. Then 1% with each fusion. So 25% in total. When maxed out, the opponent team also gets power drained (1 bar of power for each opponent), if the wearer of the Kori Blade KOes the opponent. Also with each KO you can get an ice shield and ofc tons of damage in the LK tower itself.
