Well , they say lots of things , but after watching it in recent years , then coming across all the criticism with a more informed mind after , i've realised a lot of it is nonsense , a lot just haven't watched the series and go by others words , or a lot of even the ones who have , barely remember anything to the point half of their criticism just becomes misinformation . To some degree dubbed version is at fault too , i've seen it messes with some info .

Mainly the reason the series failed is they took too big of a risk . Og db like adventure in black star db arc could hardly work after dbz conditioned everyone for dopamine inducing fights , and as much as i don't like it even i can't watch og db upto 20 episodes now , they still tried with mixing some cool fights in there , but people were already disappointed . Next is the series being too short compared to the 5x long dbz , with the amount of events that i think could use more episodes , so less room for eye candy and every fight to be a good length making people feel the other characters barely did anything ,while they did about just as much as they have before overall .

Now look at daima , all they had to do to gain praise for making another black star db arc featuring at the end a massively degraded ssj4 , but alright fanservice , is starve the fans for some years . Rarity increases value and appreciation . That's why u see some people realising modern db content isn't really what they wanted when they hated on GT and appreciate it more now .
