to be honest, i'm not a big fan of friendships, but Shang Tsung's friendship equipments are arguably better than his brutality ones.
you get unblockable chance on basic attacks if not affected by any debuffs (from the weapon), and debuff resistance (from the armor). it works pretty well.
plus, let's be honest, his brutality equipment is quite outdated.
