they should be able to do the fight but auto just doesn't make proper decisions in the fight, its a basic x amount of punches, maybe one or two SP and no logic in switching when tagging 🤷‍♂️ So you need a OP team always, and then sometimes RNG beats OP

I like Sindel Signet Ring and Bloody Tomahawak.

Go for what you need rather than preferences. For someone who likes to play FW a lot, Shang Tsung stone is a good card. For me, when playing characters that benefit of off blind or defensive play, i use shadow sash.

When I am playing against Xray team, I use fx blazes to drain their power so every gear is situational. Gear has to complent your playstyle.
