I'd suggest you to build up your gold character roster first as chances are much more rare to get a diamond cart. Also, if you have prefered characters you play with, you can focus on them (wait for your prefered card to appear in store, do challenges). There is really a lot of cards so buying and fusing a fewer number of cards will save you souls and you'll have well fused cards soon.
