but the one evasion is where the luck comes in. if he evades, the entire run is over

I agree , the thing is though (And this is the main reason why I prefer Klassic over MK11 for beginners) There aren't a lot of great mk11 characters that can carry your account at low fusions (Scorpion can and more or less nobody else). So in a way you open it wanting to get scorpion alone (and maybe SZ despite again...he can't do much at f0 without scorpion). At the same time in the klassic pack you get 3 diamonds that are GODLIKE at f0 - Rain, KLK, Raiden and even if you fail to get one of them, you have very high chance to get A+ OR S gold (KL Smoke, ST, Scorpion, Kano, Sonya) which isn't the case in MK11 Pack. So in a way - even if you pull more diamonds, can these diamonds (that will presumably have a few extra fusions) help you clear fatal tower faster? Can f3 MK11 Raiden carry you in fatal tower or f2 kabal? At the same time, you will have f0 Raiden and a few copies of either Kano or Sonya or Scorpion or either of those super powerful golds that can carry.

and the chance for scorpion is 2.5 % . Which means on average you get 1 scorpion every 30 packs. To get him to F3 you must open 100 + packs. By that time if you keep opening klassic packs you will max out 100 % at least 1 or even 2 of the goldike golds

So the moment you have good roster to start clearing fatals - then you can switch to mk11 pack as your focus will be now to start grinding for fusions.
