So do you need to use potions in quests to get the highest reward from them? I’ve been running 1 hr quests for like a month or so and all have 15 souls reward but i never got more than 9. That doesn’t sound like just bad rng. Am i doing something wrong?

i've seen people with more than kontender and getting gold challenge cards

it still comes down to a lot of rng, odds arent great for equipments or characters, 1 hour quests are most efficient unless you need to unlock more quests
potions dont affect much I think and is actually the worst deal in the game
