so the best way is the challenge tower but that is specific to a character.
Another way is to opening certain packs. Some diamonds pack gives out Diamonds but also gives challenge golds (Day of the Dead pack), don't buy ones that only give out challenge golds.

I would wait until Christmas to open those diamond packs though, just for the discount
