Are you on Android, or even iOS? Maybe a friend's phone could get you past the issues with a new installation. At any rate, he'll/she'll likely become a persistent player.
Phones and certain other devices have a unique identifier, so another user's phone might work. If you're rooted or jailbroken you can alter it.

See that's the thing. When we make a bug report, it gets sent to the developers (that's what it seems like anyway), and then when you do reply to an email, it'll be customer service that reply to you, not the developers themselves.
The developers only read the comments if they want to, and see if they can fix the bug in due time.
It's still really bad though considering that there are so many players experiencing the open fail bug.
So I think an update or a comment from the developers themselves would be nice.
