Anyway, tap the software or hardware button that resembles a square or a stack of three horizontal bars. That'll bring up your recently used apps. Find MKM amongst them by swiping left or right, if necessary, and then swipe up on it there until it disappears and you'll have fully exited the game. This is important to do periodically.

That only exits the user interface and the game is still occupying memory. If you don't see the game's splash screen or logo screen upon returning to the game, but it instead just pops up where you've left off, then it hasn't fully closed and any issues are quite likely still lurking about.

If on iOS, double click the home hardware button to access the recently used apps menu. On iOS without the hardware button, swipe up from the bottom of the screen, stopping at about halfway up the screen, then release to reveal your recently used apps.
