why do people buy tower equipments?

the answer is simply, because they’re the best cards in the game. because of massive damage boost and max health boost they can give you in towers (only) and they have additional effects which can be used for anywhere and some of them are so good (such as weather warfare which freezes on tag-in). tower equipments can make you stronger than bosses, so that already can explain why they are so op. tower equipments apply to any kind of character (so it can buff bronzes as well especially maxed epic tower equipments)

you want to be able to beat towers with them since they give you the most rewards by dropping you random rewards from koins to epic tower equipments (it can be guaranteed tower equipments and diamonds in certain battles). you get koins for the biggest chains which still gets you rewarded since with koins you can do everything such as upgrading abilities, opening equipment/silver packs in case you need to and being able to skip battles in challenges so you can start quicker in the next modes. these random rewards get dropped EVEN if you either win or lose which is guaranteed so it’s suggested to attempt every single try for any player who wants to go for the grind.

tower equipments are easy to get well since you can get them from either a random drop in the tower, a guaranteed tower equipment drop from certain battles and if you have money to spare, buying packs of them in the special offers section. so your goal is really to go for tower equipments as some can give you great effects to use from them anywhere and you will be able to beat towers without hesitating.

does upgrading an ability increase the dot duration?

yes it does and that’s why it’s always recommended to max the abilities since you will be able to get most out of them. you don’t want dots to last less since dots stand for damage overtime. you want to able to apply dots which stays for a while to drain the opponent’s health and keep applying more to keep draining their health. this is very important
