When I see the opponent tagging out, I block and let them do their basics or special attack, then I resume the chain. Or, if my reaction time is fast enough, I wait a few seconds once the opponent has tagged out and right until the next opponent touches the ground, I resume my chain with the basic attacks and SP1 and all that. Hope this helps.
