Gold packs are good, but the way I did it was to buy diamond packs instead. For a little extra you may get a diamond, plus many guarantee a challenge gold

If you can't clear Hard difficulty yet in Challenge mode, keep buying gold packs till you can. If you can clear Hard difficulty, then move on to MK11 Skarlet Diamond Pack.
