I used kombat cup Johnny, mk11 sub to continuously power drain Geras. He will reflect debuffs around 70 percent of the time. There is a talent which gives you 20% resistance to stun and power drain(forgot the name), that helped out a lot.
If you have crown of mind control from previous hellspawn tower, it might also help. I haven't seen Geras reflect my incurability even a single time so I dunno whether it works that way or not.

And yes if you see he heals a lot, just quit the battle.
