I've conquered the tower twice already and I didn't confront him more than once with Tanya... I only make sure to give her equipment that give power at the start of the match like wrath hammer , power generation boost equipment and some block breaker gear for higher chance of successful basic attack and then special attack....
I usually perform 3 special attacks simultaneously and shang tsung become a jobbers... Then I just finish him off with another character sometimes without him having a successful attack
