Nah. Use fast and powerful characters. Powerful from Tower gear. He likes to block. And with a steady barrage, even w/o bbs, he'll be content to block. While the equipment still deals damage through his block. Tagging-in a character seems to throw them off for a second or two, and he's back to blocking.
