the fw matchmaking is stupid as hell, if you use a team solely made of f0-f1 golds or diamonds, for some reason you get matched with teams that usually have like 6-10x your stats

usually this happens a lot because people take 3 fresh characters that they usually want to level up all at the same time (which isn't really a good way, having 2 of them and a carry will net more)

some people intentionally do it for the challenge, mostly cuz even stat fw matches usually take less than 20 seconds to kill a single character

And where does Quick play work? challenge towers? It works where it is not needed ... Faction wars survivor mode Bettle Elder15 practically never works, even Fatal12 rarely works .. And here there are difficult battles, where sometimes you really need such a shield, if there are opponents like Circle of shadow liu kang, ravenous mileena or Kabal mk11 which can all knock out team members.

It works in all game modes about equally. Personally I don't use it, as I prefer pure offense, but I've been enraged by it numerous times in quick play and survivor.

It rarely triggers because it's such a powerful ability, invulnerability and can't be staggered for 5 seconds is alot. Also it's got like a 20% chance once full maxed out or something like that.
