What does retrofication do

That's when the enemy has three pips at the start of the match and on tag-in that act like shields. They take precious little damage until all three pips have been eliminated by using your specials against each one of the pips. Challenges have become a lot more difficult for some players. Fortunately, they seem to only show up in Elder difficulty. Here's the in-game definition of Retrofication:
Active opponent character has 3 shield points that reduce the incoming damage. Each shield lowers the incoming damage for 20%. To destroy one shield, the player's character needs to use any special attack. Opponents are able to restore shields: 3 shields on tag-in and 1 shield on their special attacks.

Not being sarcastic. I could simply use silver/gold/diamond to win. But I can also leave the phone on auto for an hour or so with all gold or all diamond, and get back to a bunch of feats done.

The power drain hinders the progress, but it’s a great thing to do if you have the time to leave the phone aside.

Also have FFLK F3 L47 and Shaolin KJ F3 L50. My biggest problem is when she does her x-ray - is there a certain trigger for that, or is it random?

there are some attacks that knock her far enough away that xray misses when she tries to

I am on battle 28 of the Elder level kosplay JB challenge and I'm not even coming close. Run out of time every time since the ice armor prevents special damage. I'm using FFLK (F3, L50), Vamp Mileena (F6, L50), and Kosplay JB (F4, L45) (as scorpion, figuring fire might do the trick? But it definitely doesn't work every time, so maybe just coincidence when it does work??).
