Kl Sonya can be really helpful here. Sp1 will break all the shields and also debuff resistance. Hawk stance from the defence tree and also debuff resistance equipment (tremor's mask for example)

I've always preferred Klassic Sonya instead of Covert Ops. You can Red Card an opponent and just spam Klassic Sonya's Special 1. If you equip Klassic Sonya with Shang Tsung's Stone, the last character is pretty much always 1 shot.
