@reef narwhal Don't follow bad advice. It's a total waste of your souls to open gold packs. Gold cards that drop from gold packs are the basic (weaker) gold cards. Perhaps Covert Ops Cassie is one rare exception but you can buy her for 250 souls anytime you see her in your character store. You are much better off opening diamond packs, where you have a chance of getting a diamond and if you don't get a Diamond, usually you will get a challenge gold card which is much stronger than a basic gold card. You can earn 400 aouls every day if you run hourly quests, which means you should be able to open one diamond pack everyday until you reach a strong enough roster to be able to start saving for sales....

@reef narwhal and BTW let me be clear about a comment I made about Cassie. I recommend you buy covert ops Cassie anytime you see her in the store, until you max her. She is as strong as most challenge golds due to her stats, but because she doesn't need block breaking equipment, she is also arguably as strong as a diamond. With her passive block-breaking ability built in, she behaves as if she has four equipment slots like diamonds do. But her block breaking ability is better than equipment cards because she can block break with specials, in addition to basic attacks. Plus, she cripples opponents with her SP2. No doubt, she is the best basic gold card.
