Find a lvl where you can easily auto the battle and do a few x day. I've used this one for a long time, as it's only 5 battles, there's no test your might, and uses two bars of energy x battle (so you use one team x full run, 2 bars each battle x 5 battles = 10 energy bars, i.e. no waste of time or energy). It gives about 30k xp per battle. Now I've been using the second last tower to finish up the very last cards I'm maxing.

Might still be a bit too difficult for your level for now. Try lower. And save teams so you have them ready and don't need to look for the characters you're leveling up.
Also, challenge towers pay out pretty good xp, so do those too
