Always do ALL your free tower battles even if you know you'd lose. You'd still get rewarded for losing most times it will either be gold or a support card. Rarely you get souls, and equipment. And you might even get gold cards. For losing the fight.

The best way to earn souls is by doing one hour quest, typically less hours a quest the better they are. So ;
1 hr > 4 hr > 8 hr > 12 hr > 1 day .

Don't buy challenge packs ( the pack for 300 souls) they are a scam buy mk11 or klassic packs. But if you wanna get the most value from your souls buy packs that are discounted when available

Seeing as your new, take advantage of the rotating shop ( the one that changes every 12 hr ) the pool of cards is extremely limited from my experience. So it can be used to quickly get yourself an fx gold. Don't go buying every gold, choose one you think is good and only buy him if you must make a purchase from the rotating shop.

Fw gives rewards at the end of every season so atleast play one QB a season so you'd atleast get some free souls. A season last 3 days and 12 hr.

Managed to get him to f3 😎 I didn't have the card before. I don't think the one-day quest is a good method at this point. I only used one-hour quests (and 8-hour quests in the night), and pushes 6 times one-day quests with speed elixir in order to get enough eyes for f2 and f3. So, I've spent a total of 876 souls (my Caro is only f1), which is less than two days of souls production for me.
If I had used only one-day quests I wouldn't have made a profit of souls and I would have possibly been at that same fusion level I'm now.
